Goddess Moons are washable reusable menstrual pads. They’re great for light to heavy menstrual flow, post partum, and light to moderate bladder protection. A Goddess Moon consists of a wrap around wing and an insertable pad that comes in MEDIUM and HEAVY flow. The wrap around wings can also be worn without the pad insert as a panty liner.

Goddess Moons have a wrap around wing that snaps together underneath your underwear, holding it in place, and providing extra protection on the sides. Because the wings are always made of textured flannel, they don’t slip or ride up. Cradled on the top of the Goddess Moon is the super absorbent pad. It fits neatly under the flaps at the front and back of the pad, and can easily be flipped upside down or removed and replaced. (I highly recommend flipping the pad over after it’s saturated, and you’ll be surprised how much of the moisture will evaporate off while you get an extra couple hours of protection from the opposite side!)

Each Goddess Moon pad is hand sewn from 100% cotton flannel. In the centre of the wing as well as the pad is a super absorbent unbleached cotton batting. It’s a durable yet lofty material that allows maximum aeration through the pad while you’re wearing them. The superior air flow within the pad means more natural evaporation and less perspiration, hence a much more comfortable experience than plastic and glue lined disposables! You’ll find that you don’t have to change your Goddess Moon Pads as often as you’re used to changing disposables. They’ll never feel as wet and hot as a disposable because there’s no plastic or nylon in them to block the air flow.

If you’re prone to yeast infections at the end of your moon time, you’ll probably notice a marked decrease in these episodes with Goddess Moon Pads. Most women understand that polyester underwear are not healthy and can cause yeast infections because they do not breathe adequately. If you follow that logic into menstrual protection, isn’t it to be expected that wearing a sheet of plastic in our underwear for 4-6 days would cause problems?

CARE FOR YOUR GODDESS MOONS

After wearing your Goddess Moon Pads, just rinse or soak them in cool water, and machine wash & dry next time you do laundry. It’s that easy! Since Goddess Moons come in such rich and varied colours, you won’t have to worry about stains, and you won’t have to contaminate your pad or the environment with bleach.

If you’re away from home, you can store your used Goddess Moons in a zip lock bag and wash them out when you get home. If you’re camping or traveling, Goddess Moons can easily be washed out in a sink (or a raging river, mountain stream, or alpine lake!) with some bar soap and hung to dry.
